Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD): coaching enquiries from across the UAE
Persistent worry that jumps from one topic to the next can be exhausting, particularly when work, family abroad and visa or financial pressures all compete for attention. Coaching offers a calm, practical structure for understanding that pattern.
Understanding the concern
People describing generalised worry often mention muscle tension, poor sleep, irritability and difficulty switching off in the evening, even on quiet days.
Coaching looks at how constant scanning for problems becomes a habit of the threat response, and how daily routines can be adjusted to stop feeding it, drawing on Institute-developed TRT education.
What an enquiry might involve
- 01A brief outline of how long the worry has been present and the areas of life it affects most.
- 02Whether you already have a diagnosis or are working with a doctor or therapist, so coaching can sit alongside that care.
- 03A choice of coach and a time that works around your working week in the UAE.
Practical session expectations
- 01Sessions are conversational but structured, with clear explanations rather than open-ended talking.
- 02You may agree small changes to checking, planning and reassurance habits to try between sessions.
- 03Your coach will review what you noticed and adjust the plan. Pace is set together.
Worth discussing with your doctor or practitioner
- 01Sleep problems, low mood or loss of interest lasting more than two weeks, which may need clinical assessment.
- 02Thyroid or other physical checks if your doctor considers them relevant.
- 03Any medication you take or are considering.
Suitability and boundaries
Coaching may suit adults who recognise ongoing worry and want practical education. It does not diagnose GAD and does not replace treatment from a licensed mental health professional where that is needed.
Coaching is educational support. It does not diagnose, prescribe or replace care from a doctor, psychiatrist or licensed psychologist, and no particular outcome or timeline is guaranteed. Condition names on this site describe what people tell us they are experiencing, not services that diagnose or treat those conditions.
About the approach
LAR coaches draw on Threat Recalibration Therapy (TRT) and the related HSF framework, which were developed by and belong to the Institute of Applied Psychophysiology. Descriptions of TRT and any programme figures are the Institute's own. You can read the Institute's material directly:
